For the second year in a row now, Marcus Tandler aka @mediadonis brought together top SEOs from all over the world to one of the most prestigious and fun events in this industry: SEOktoberfest 2009.

When Marcus Tober @linkvendor asked me last week if I'd like to take his seat on day 3 of SEOktoberfest 2009 (he had to be on dmexco that day), I was thrilled. And after that SEOktoberfest conference day on Thursday, September 24th 2009 my head is still buzzing from cool info and booze :-)

The conference started at 9:00 a.m., dresscode: Lederhosn. If you have been to Munich during Oktoberfest season you will know that you will only draw attention on the streets if you don't wear them - even in the a.m. Owning a Lederhosn for only a few days now, I'm personally impressed how great the german Tracht looks on people. (Very nice and handsome people to begin with, of course :-) But they really know how to make a bavarian Tracht look great!

You might think that having people in Lederhosn speak to you about SEO is kind of weird. And you'd be right. But of course it didn't take away anything from the quality of the panels. During some of the sessions you could see the attendees' eyes and ears grow in awe - mine included. Cool sessions, great conversations during the breaks.
Fabulous to meet Ralph @fantomaster Tegtmeier, Frank @AussieWebmaster Watson and all the other guys.
Big names - just great people. Awesome conference!

After that it was time to head over to the Wiesn.

I usually do not start drinking before sundown, but hey - it's Oktoberfest, right?

And apart from being the best in the industry, these guys sure know how to party! :-)

After countless beers on the Wiesn we were VIP-shuttled to the Nachstich. During the ride I had a great talk with Todd @stuntdubl Malicoat and got some valuable tips and strategies from him. It's true: you get the best infos one on one after the alcohol has loosened the tongues a little... thanks, man! :-)

In Nachstich the drinking continued with Vodka, Rum and Champagne - and the light was not quite ideal for stupid iPhone to make any usable pictures, but what the hell:

My regrets:

Didn't bring a good camera
- and so didn't get a good shot of our Professional SEO Model doing the Zoolander (which really cracked me up every time :-)

Drank what was handed to me
- and that's particularily bad since the Viagra Verchecker (who wanted to be in bed by 8 p.m., but ended up partying the hardest :-) spiked my drink with half a bottle of rum. That one I truly regret!
But Michael: you rock, my friend! :-)

Didn't bring second voice
- 'cause my first one gave up halfway through the night...
